A little project that has been going on part-time as of the end of June.
LOAF is an ongoing casual app game that is being created by me and my little brother! Since he knew the basics of Java and C#, we split the work in half, as he became the developer and I handled the art direction. This is currently being created on Unity.
We started out by creating quick and sloppy sprites from Illustrator, which from then slowly revised over time. Once we figured a more concrete layout, we played more with the style and color palette. (Click the smaller icons to look through the mess aka process). Why the specific layout? It branched out from an online game we used to play as kids called Sushi Go Round. We wanted to create something similar with better UI and graphics! And of course since sushi easily becomes overrated in app games. we decided on bread.
The list of the type of bread made was officially made, and from there we created a tier system of which breads would be more expensive/have more value. The bread all derived from different combinations from 6 types of ingredients.
(Please excuse the sketchy lines, as they are continuously being revised!)
During the process of layout screens, I was able to learn how to make more fluid animations, as well as quickly pick up Figma.
Each character has three stages to signify how fast you deliver the bread to the customer. The happier the customer is, the more money you will earn! All animations are created through Photoshop.
Thanks for viewing the process so far!
